While I’ve grown up in the Chicago suburbs my entire life, the Midwest has always been home for me, and I’m very excited to begin my new journey here in Eastern Iowa at KWWL!
I was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. When someone asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I always told them I wanted to “be on the news.” Now, here I am, many years later, living out a dream I’ve had since I was a young girl.
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in May 2018. There, I competed for the Orange and Blue as a member of the women’s Division I soccer team. (Go Illini!)
When I wasn’t on the soccer field, I spent most of my time at my school’s television studio. I started my Fridays a little earlier than the average college student, reporting on all sorts of stories around campus for Good Morning Illini. I was also involved with Fighting Illini Productions, the official video department for Illini Athletics, where I helped put together a weekly sports show called “The I.” I’ve covered everything from professional baseball games to local news as an intern for both NBC Sports Chicago (formerly Comcast SportsNet Chicago) and WAND-TV, the NBC-affiliate in Decatur, Illinois.
I love trying new recipes in my kitchen, and I enjoy spending time with my family and my sweet dog, Elmo, when I’m not in the field reporting. Sports have always been a huge part of my life – whether playing or watching them. My Dad is originally from Pittsburgh, and I must say, I am a die-hard Steelers fan.
If you see me around, please don’t be shy! Introduce yourself! I love meeting new people, and I’m always looking for a good story to tell, so please feel free to share any ideas you may have.
