UPDATE: Body believed to be missing Iowa City man found Wednesday afternoon

IOWA CITY (KWWL) – Police in Iowa City are asking for the public’s help to find a missing person.

Nikolai “Niko” Stielow was last seen in the downtown area of Iowa City where he fled from his family. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants with a black hat with an American flag.

Niko is 21 years old, 5′ 05″ tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds.

He is described as having autism and is in need of medication.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Niko is asked to call the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.

UPDATE:

Iowa City and Coralville Fire departments have discovered what is believed to be the body of missing Nikolai “Niko” Stielow.

The body was found in a heavily wooded area south of Whiting Avenue and west of Kimball Road around 1 P.M. Wednesday afternoon.

Preliminary information shows no signs of foul play, however, a final determination as to the cause of the death will be made after a complete investigation. An autopsy will be conducted by the Johnson County Medical Examiner.
