POLICE: Iowa City shooting not believed to be random

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) — One person is injured after a shooting in Iowa City.

Police tell us it happened this afternoon along Cayman Street. They evacuated nearby residents and determined there was no threat.

Authorities tell us this incident is not related to recent Cedar Rapids shootings.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information about this incident that leads to an arrest.


UPDATE: Iowa City Police say a shooting that injured one person on Thursday, is not believed to be a random act of violence.

The Johnson County Drug Task Force is now investigating the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
