Montana man charged for crash at UI president’s residence

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) — A Montana man was cited multiple times after a crash near the University of Iowa’s president’s residence last month.

Samuel Soskin, of Missoula, Mont. was cited by UI police in connection to crash near the property of the president’s home. The incident happened on Dec. 26, 2018.

A spokesperson with the department said Soskin was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, failure to maintain control, failure to report an accident and striking fixtures upon a highway.

According to the university, the damage was done landscaping and some fencing, but the home was not damaged.

Online court records show the charges were entered on Dec. 31, five days after the incident.
