Highway 52 in Dubuque closed due to flooding

UPDATE: The portion of Highway 52 near Rupp Hollow Road has been reopened.

However, there is still a high level of flooding in nearby Heritage Pond. Additional rain this evening could potentially force the road to close again.

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) — Flash flooding has closed down Highway 52 near Rupp Hollow Rd.

The Iowa DOT has the highway closed between W John Deere rd. and NW Arterial/S John Deere rd.

Drivers are being detoured around the highway on W John Deere rd. and S John Deere rd.

The road began to flood around 6 a.m.

The DOT estimates highway 52 will be closed for two hours.

Rupp Hollow rd. is also closed due to the flash flood.
