General Mills and Cedar Rapids workers reach tentative agreement

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KWWL) – Local 110 of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union says over 500 workers at the General Mills processing plant in Cedar Rapids have reached a tentative contract agreement with the company.

A vote on the tentative contract agreement is scheduled for Thursday, November 14.

The negotiations committee expects the contract will be approved by workers.

More details on the approval vote and agreement will be shared when available.

Earlier this week, General Mills workers voted to reject the latest contract offer from the company. 99% of workers voted down the offer.

Workers were looking for higher wages and the ability to keep overtime pay, along with their healthcare and retirement benefits.
