Car vs. motorcycle accident sends Coggon man to hospital

COGGON, Iowa (KWWL) – A Coggon man was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car while riding a motorcycle.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office said it happened Sunday just before 3 p.m.

Authorities report Diana Sills, 68, of Coggon was driving on 3rd Street South and crossed into oncoming traffic. Alan Henderson, 50, of Coggon was hit by Sills’ vehicle at the corner of 4th Avenue East.

Henderson was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital for what authorities believe to be non-life threatening injuries. Henderson was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Sills was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway. Henderson was also cited for not having proof of insurance or a valid license.
