Girl Scout cookie season set to begin Jan. 18

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) – The wait is finally over.

Starting Jan. 18, people in the Cedar Valley will be able to purchase Girl Scout cookies.

Cookie season runs through March 24.

The Girl Scout organization said the annual cookie program inspires the next generation of female entrepreneurs. Girl Scouts learn a number of skills, such as money management, teamwork and leadership.

Proceeds from cookie season will stay local, according to the organization. The money will be used for programs like summer camps and STEM events.

Traditional flavors cost $4 per pox and s’mores cookies and gluten free toffee-tastic cookies are $5 per box.
