Man shot twice in the leg in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Ia (KWWL) — Cedar Rapids police said one man was sent to the hospital following a shooting in the south-east side of the city.

Police said they got a call around 4:20 p.m. of a shooting in the proximity of 6th Ave and 15th St SE in Cedar Rapids. Callers reported hearing at least three shots that were fired in the area.

Once on scene, police said one male victim was located with two gunshots to his left leg. Police have not released the man’s identity.

The victim was tended to by police before he was transported to Mercy Hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police said they’ve spoken to witnesses but no there are no arrests at this time.
