(NBC) – The largest pharmacy chain in the country announced today its plans to pull Zantac from store shelves.
CVS Pharmacy is suspending all versions of the heartburn drug. This comes after the Food and Drug Administration announced earlier this month, some of the pills contained small amounts of a substance that could cause cancer.
Zantac has not been recalled and the FDA has not recommended patients stop taking the drugs.
Customers who have already purchased the products can return them to a CVS store for a refund.
