Fundraiser hopes to curb military suicide

SUMNER, Iowa (KWWL) – A local PTSD advocacy group is holding a rummage sale to help raise awareness for military suicide.

Amanda Everhart founded Operation Shell Shock in honor of her late father Fred James Everhart who served in the army.

The rummage sale is being held at 11 AM to 7:30 PM at 206 E 12th St in Sumner, Iowa. The event is to be held rain or shine until September 18th.

All proceeds will go towards the production and distribution of material promotion suicide prevention that Operation Shell Shock mails to military posts, bases, and VFWs.

The group are also supporters of the veterans crisis line.
