UPDATE: More than 9,500 people without power in Eastern Iowa

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL)– A power outage has been reported in the Waterloo.  There is no power in the residential area of Highway 20 and Hawkeye Road.

According to MidAmerican’s website, power went out at 6:42 p.m. and is expected to be restored at 9:15 p.m.

UPDATE: More than 9,000 people are without power in Waterloo.

UPDATE: Over 10,000 people without power in Waterloo and the surrounding area.

UPDATE: (8:58 p.m.) Over 13,000 people are now without power in Waterloo and the surrounding area, according to MidAmerican Energy.


UPDATE: (12:36 a.m.) More than 8,200 people are still without power in Waterloo.

About 1,300 customers are without power in Iowa City.

Mid-American Energy has not said when the power may be restored.
