(KWWL) – The grocery chain Hy-Vee released a statement Wednesday saying they’re investigating a potential data breach.
A news release says that unauthorized activity was discovered recently and then an investigation was launched. The company believes the potential breach is focused on transactions at their fuel pumps, drive-thru coffee shops, and restaurants including the Market Grille. Other systems like the ones used at the checkouts or pharmacies aren’t believed to be affected.
Hy-Vee said they didn’t have any other details to release because the investigation was in its early phases. They did not provide any information as to how many customers could be affected.
The company says its working with federal law enforcement, payment card networks, and a number of cybersecurity firms as part of the investigation.
Hy-Vee believes they have stopped the unauthorized activity.
