(NBC)–  A California couple is suing a fertility center after the clinic allegedly implanted two embryos in the wrong woman.  Annie Manukyan gave birth to another woman’s infant son.

Two embryos were mistakenly implanted in Manukyan last year.  However, the mix-up wasn’t noticed until Manukyan gave birth to two baby boys who were a different ethnicity from her and her husband.

The couple is suing for emotional, punitive damages and legal costs.  In addition to the horrifying event, the couple had to go to court to get custody of their biological son.

So far, the fertility clinic has declined to comment on the situation.
