U.S. imposing major sanctions on Iran

(CNN) — The United States is set to impose more sanctions against Iran today, with the threat of a military strike still possible.

President Trump called off a military strike against Tehran last week, with ten minutes to spare.

Right now, senators are split on whether or not a strike should happen.

President Trump has said he doesn’t want to start a war with Iran.

He tweeted that if Tehran agrees to a nuclear ban it could become a “productive and prosperous nation again.”

The United Arab Emirates’ foreign minister says easing tensions in the gulf will only happen from a “political solution.”
