(CNN) — The United States is set to impose more sanctions against Iran today, with the threat of a military strike still possible.
President Trump called off a military strike against Tehran last week, with ten minutes to spare.
Right now, senators are split on whether or not a strike should happen.
President Trump has said he doesn’t want to start a war with Iran.
He tweeted that if Tehran agrees to a nuclear ban it could become a “productive and prosperous nation again.”
The United Arab Emirates’ foreign minister says easing tensions in the gulf will only happen from a “political solution.”
