DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) – A little rain is not going to stop the fun at America’s River Festival in Dubuque. However, guests should plan on arriving a little earlier than anticipated.
America’s River Festival is a two-day country music festival in the Port of Dubuque. This is the 16th-year that the event has taken place.
People come from across the country to enjoy country-music acts and to celebrate Dubuque.
However, the rainy weather has forced event organizers to make some changes. The Friday evening lineup has been adjusted to begin a half an hour early.
The first band is now expected to take the main stage at 6:30 p.m. President and C.E.O. of Travel Dubuque, Keith Rahe, said that they wanted to make sure that all acts had enough time for their performance sets.
Rahe said that there should not be any significant changes made to this weekend’s schedule.
“If it does get a little wet then bring an umbrella or a rain jacket just in case,” said Rahe. “But come out and enjoy the great entertainment. And we hope to see everyone here tonight and tomorrow night.”
It is estimated that 8,000 to 12,000 people are expect to attend this weekend’s performances.
