BREMER COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – Dashcam video from a Bremer County Sheriff’s Deputy shows the chase from Friday, June 7th.

The driver, Dekota Newlon, reached speeds near 110mph. The pursuit began in Bremer County and ended in Cedar Falls.

The pursuit drew the attention of a pilot from the Iowa State Patrol just after takeoff. That pilot offered guidance as the deputy pursued the suspect along Highway 218 and eventually through a bike trail.

“Does it all fall into place like this? Not all the time. But when it does, it’s great. You know, to have that cohesiveness between the agencies and work together like that,” said Chief Deputy Rober Whitney with the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office.

Newlon has not been released from custody.
