June 21: The Longest Day; walk laps at College Square Mall to raise money for two organizations

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) – The summer solstice is June 21, and there’s something important you can do that day to support two causes in the Cedar Valley community.

From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at College Square Mall, Home Care Assistance is asking the community to come out and walk laps at the mall to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s.  It’s also to support Pink Heals Eastern Iowa.  The group helps those fighting cancer in our community.  Each registered mall walker will track their laps and earn donations.

“Home Care Assistance takes pride in their efforts to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease and we ask the community to come out for a mall walk,” said Jessica Fairbanks, Care Manager and owner of Home Care Assistance of the Cedar Valley.

To register, call Home Care Assistance at 319-260-2222.
