UPDATE: Name released after worker falls from television tower in Iowa

ALLEMAN, Iowa – One person is dead after falling from a television tower in Alleman. Our media partner in Des Moines, WHO, confirms this happened around 10:50 this morning.

Emergency crews were called to 14723 NW 2nd St. on a report that someone had fallen from the KDSM tower. Lt. Heath Osberg with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirms a tower worker who was doing repairs, fell to the ground.

WHO reports that two employees for PCI Communications, out of Texas, were doing repairs at around 1,000 feet.

UPDATE: Authorities have released the name of a worker who fell from a television tower in Alleman.

Our NBC affiliate, WHO in Des Moines, says 47-year-old Kevin D. Wright was killed in a fall on Wednesday.

The cause of the fall remains under investigation.
