WATERLOO, Iowa – UPDATE: Waterloo police confirm names of passengers hit by gunfire.

25-year-old Micalla Rettinger was the driver who was shot and killed. Adam Kimball, 32 was struck by gunfire and was taken to Iowa City for treatment. There is no update on Kimball’s condition.

Police do not have any arrests made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.

WATERLOO, Iowa – UPDATE: Waterloo police confirm a woman was shot and killed while she was driving southbound on Highway 218.

Waterloo police say the bullet entered the vehicle, striking two of  three people inside. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in the car was taken to Iowa City for treatment. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Waterloo Police Department.

Waterloo police are investigating a suspicious incident on a highway this morning.

Highway 218 near the Greenhilll exit is blocked off. Emergency vehicles and police have been on scene since around 2:30 a.m.
