Poll: Many parents worry about teen safety when using ride-sharing services

(NBC) — A new poll shows many parents worry about the safety of their teens when using ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft.

One in three parents say their 18-year-old has used a ride-sharing service.

Parents’ top concerns involved the driver driving safely and the risk of sexual assault.

The poll also found parental concern was more common for daughters than for sons.

Experts say families should talk about safety strategies.
