Doctors reminding parents of water safety importance

(NBC) — As we get closer to summer, doctors are reminding parents of the importance of water safety and preventing drowning in children.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says adults should always be within arm’s length of infants and toddlers when they are swimming or in the tub.

They say parents should also be watching older children.

Drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death in young children.
