Dubuque County announces road closures due to flooding

DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – Dubuque County authorities are advising people of road closures due to flooding.

Capt. Harley Pothoff released the following Thursday evening:

“State DOT Officials have closed Hwy. 52 North between the Northwest Arterial and Hwy 386 (N. John Deere Road) due to flooding. Currently all north bound traffic on Hwy. 52 is being diverted onto South John Deere Road and onto Hwy 386 back to Hwy. 52 North. South bound traffic on Hwy. 52 is restricted to one lane at this time. The water level is continuing to rise and the State DOT Officials expect that Hwy 52 will be closed between Hwy. 386 and the Northwest Arterial by 10:00 PM, at which time all traffic will be diverted around the affected area.”

Pothoff went on the say that Rupp Hollow Road and Sageville Road are also closed.

As always, drivers are warned to never drive through any standing water on roadways.  Turn around, don’t drown.
