Gas prices the lowest they have been all year

Good news if you plan on hitting the road this holiday season. The price of gas is the lowest it has been all year.

According to AAA, the national gas price average has dropped more than 50 cents since Memorial Day weekend when the national average was $2.97 a gallon. Currently, the national average is $2.45 a gallon. In eastern Iowa, prices have been seen as low as $2.14 a gallon in some areas.

Prices are expected to fluctuate through the rest of the month, and the national average could get as low as $2.40 a gallon.
