“Sensitive Santa” coming to Lindale Mall Sunday, December 9

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) – “Sensitive Santa” will be making an appearance at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, December 9 for children with all spectrums of special needs and their families.

This sensory-friendly, controlled, welcoming event for the all-important visit to The Santa Photo Experience is possible because of a partnership with Autism Speaks.  Adjustments will be made to lights, music, activity tables and wait times for children with special needs.

“Visiting Santa Claus is one of the most joyous holiday experiences of the season for young children and their families. It’s important to Lindale Mall that children of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to meet Santa. Our ‘Sensitive Santa’ event minimizes traffic and wait times, while subduing music and lights, assuring a sensory-friendly, calming experience for Cedar Rapids-area children,” said Lia Pontarelli, Marketing Director at Lindale Mall.

“Sensitive Santa” will be there from 8 until 10 a.m.  It’s free to attend, but each family or group is asked to RSVP in advance by reserving one ticket on the mall’s website: lindalemall.com.  Santa photo packages will be available for purchase.
