West Liberty Police raise more than $6,000 for shop with a cop

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (KWWL) — Twenty children will soon have new clothes and toys for the Holidays thanks to the West Liberty Police Department’s shop with a cop event.

The department was able to raise enough money to give each child a $250 budget for the event. They raised $6,500.00 in cash, that’s more than double what they raised last year.

This is their second year participating in shop with a cop.

The event is from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the Walmart in Muscatine.

After the shopping families are encouraged to join the officers for a pizza party at Pizza Ranch in Muscatine.

On Facebook the department said the goal is to help local families have a good Christmas.
