Iowa man riding motorcycle crashes into pole, flips

A Walford man was taken to the hospital Monday after crashing into a roadside pole and flipping while riding in Fairfax.

Officers with the Linn County Sheriff say the accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday, when 66-year-old Douglas Fuller was traveling south on Williams Boulevard and couldn’t stop in time for a vehicle waiting to turn left ahead of him. Officers say Fuller veered into the north ditch near the Casey’s General Store in the 60 block of Williams Blvd., then hit the pole. A report on the crash notes he was not wearing a helmet.

Fuller’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this point, according to officers. Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Linn County Rescue, Fairfax Fire, Area Ambulance and Lifeguard crews.
