Waterloo police respond to almost 100 fireworks-related calls

The Waterloo Police Department posted to Facebook, letting people know how many fireworks- related calls for service were made this year. 

They also showed how many were made last year and how many were made in 2016. 

Below is the information they shared: 

July 3rd and 4th, Waterloo Police have responded to the following fireworks-related calls for service (CFS).

  • 2016 (62 CFS) Fireworks were illegal to buy or use in Iowa.
  • 2017 (101 CFS) Fireworks were legal to buy and use.
  • 2018 (92 CFS) Fireworks legal to sell, but prohibited use in Waterloo by ordinance.
