New app tracking drug overdoses

College students are using a new app to help area residents track drug overdose trends.

The database was developed by statistics students at Miami University in southwest Ohio. 

The app provides detailed information about types of drugs, locations, and demographics of overdose victims.

The data is expected to help health professionals, law enforcement, and first responders.
