Member of Iowa Board of Regents resigns

One of the nine members on Iowa’s Board of Regents has announced his resignation, effective immediately.

Dr. Subhash Sahai resigned from the Board on Friday. Dr. Sahai practices medicine in Webster City and was appointed to the Board that governs Iowa’s three major public universities in May of 2013. His Regents term was set to expire next April.

In a statement released on Friday, Board of Regents President Mike Richards called Dr. Sahai "a valuable member of the Board of Regents."

“It is unfortunate that he will not be able to complete his term, but we respect his decision. He has served this Board with distinction and we wish him well,” said Richards.
