Driver dies after hitting tree

A driver has died after hitting a tree in Eastern Iowa.

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

A car was traveling east on Yellow River Drive when the car went off the road. The car then hit a tree.

The driver died from injuries.

The victim’s name isn’t being released until family can be notified.

The crash is under investigation.
