A sign of summer, community pools opening soon

Signs of summer are upon us, weather warming up, sunny skies, and swimming pools announcing opening dates. 

The Noelridge Aquatic Center in Cedar Rapids has announced the opening days for summer 2018. 

The municipal swimming season will begin Memorial day weekend with pre-season swimming at the Noelridge on Saturday, May 26; Sunday, May 27; and Monday, May 28 (Memorial Day.) 

Lap swimming will be held each day from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.  and open swimming from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Monday. 

All outdoor municipals pools are having a "kick-off" swim event on Friday, June 1 with lap swimming from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. and open swimming 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. The regular swimming season opens at all pools on Saturday, June 2.
