Two people receive injuries from a two-vehicle accident

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – Two people suffer injuries due to a rear-end, two-vehicle accident occurring on Highway 20 today. The Iowa State Patrol was dispatched to Highway 20 past the Ansborough exit to marker 229 in the eastbound lanes during the afternoon.

Iowa State Patrol report that a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Wheaton Schroeder (27) from Lincoln, NE failed to decelerate for massive traffic and hit the back of a 2018 Ford pickup driven by Kurt Jorgensen (67) from Prairie du Chein, WI. Wheaton was cited for not maintaining control.

Christine Schroeder, (26) from Lincoln, NE, was sent to MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo for unreported injuries. Passenger James Jorgensen, (92) a Cedar Falls native, was injured as well, but did not go to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol had help from the Waterloo Fire Rescue, Waterloo EMS and the Waterloo Police Department, sourcing the report.
