A man is dead after the accident at Martin Bros. Distributing Company. The victim was an out-of-state trucker, Anthony Harris. 24 year old Harris, of Salem, Oregon, was employed by KB Transportation from Sioux City.
Harris was run over by a trailer driven by another trucker in the parking lot. Police Chief Jeff Olson says the victim was trapped under the trailer’s wheels.
Ethan DeWall, VP of Operations for Martin Bros, has released the following statement after the death of a worker at a distributing plant earlier today:
“This morning a truck driver on foot was struck by a truck driven by a Martin Bros. employee in the parking lot of our warehouse.
We are heartbroken to report that the driver on foot lost his life in this accident. We are cooperating fully with police officials to determine the exact sequence of events.
As a family-owned company we realize words cannot begin to express our sorrow to the family of the gentleman who lost his life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, as well as the driver involved in the accident.
We are using every resource at our disposal to assist and work alongside investigators to determine what happened.”
