Waterloo Columbus overcame injuries to its top two running backs in a hard fought 41-15 victory over North Fayette Valley.

Saior runningbacks, Ray Seidel and Kobe Nobis, both sustained injuries in a hard-hitting first half at T.J. McLaughlin Field Friday night.  Seidel left in the 1st quarter and did not return in the first half.

Sailor sophomore quarterback, Carter Gallagher, had his best night as a Sailor, passing for 274 yards and four touchdowns on a windy night at Columbus.

Gallagher threw two touchdown passes to Nobis before he left the game, and hit Cannon Butler with just 12-seconds left to give Columbus a 21-7 halftime lead. Gallagher also fired a TD pass to Ben Sinnott in the second half.

The win puts 7th-ranked Columbus at 7-1 on the season heading into the regular season final Friday night at Monticello.

A victory at Monticello should put Columbus into the Class 2A playoffs.
