The University of Northern Iowa has a new Director of Athletics Marketing, in the promotion of Josh Bender as head of the UNI sports marketing operations.
UNI Athletics Wednesday announced the hiring of Bender as the Director of Athletic Marketing,
Bender’s new roles will include leading UNI’s athletic marketing operations by developing and implementing all marketing plans, overseeing all media placement promoting UNI Athletics, directing UNI’s spirit squads, overseeing athletic licensing and leading T.C.’s Kid’s Club.
Bender previously worked as the Athletic Marketing Assistant at UNI and was a student assistant during his at UNI as an undergrad.
He twice acted as the interim Director of Marketing and has nearly a full year of experience acting as the lead of UNI’s athletic marketing operations, including the last six months.
Bender replaces Jonathon Trieber who joined Panther Sports Properties, the Panthers’ media rights holder, this spring.
In his previous role, he managed the marketing roles of Panther volleyball and women’s basketball. He also served as the Panther’s game day director of Panther football.
He assumes his duties on August 15.
