Waterloo Mayor, Quentin Hart, hosted the 20th annual Mayor’s Fun & Fitness Run this week in downtown Waterloo. It’s an annual tradition usually held in the fall, but delayed until may this year, due to bad weather.
4th graders from the Waterloo Community School District, Waterloo Christian School and Cedar Valley Catholic Schools participated in the fun run, designed to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
This year, the fun run also took a new approach to the start. Instead of the mass start, which sends the several hundreds runners off at the same time, and has seen some minor mishaps over the years, classes were sent off individually, in smaller groups.
