Meteorologist

KWWL, the NBC affiliate serving eastern Iowa, needs an experienced meteorologist who understands the importance of severe storm coverage.

From spring and summer tornadoes such as the Marshalltown tornado to winter blizzards, we see it all. We need someone who is a great forecaster, good communicator and calm under pressure.

We have a five-person weather team, the next generation in weather graphics and storm tracking with the WSI Max system and live cameras throughout the DMA.  Plus, we have all the other tools you need to be successfully tell your weather story.

You’ll primarily forecast weather for our Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts and forecast for various other newscasts and platforms three days during the week.  You’ll also do live shots from major breaking weather stories across the 21 counties we serve in eastern Iowa.   This is a full-time weather position.

The Waterloo-Cedar Rapids-Dubuque-Iowa City market is a great place to live with numerous colleges and universities, good quality of life, low cost of living, ample recreation and close proximity to Minneapolis, Chicago and Des Moines.
