Tate’s Army lawnmower safety golf outing set for Friday, August 6

Over the past four years, young Tate Manahl of Cedar Falls has made an incredible recovery from the serious injuries he suffered in a lawnmower accident.

In an instant on the evening of August 30, 2017, life as they knew it, changed for the Manahl family of Cedar Falls.

Their son, Tate, 3-years old at the time, got caught under the family’s riding lawn mower and suffered severe injuries which would require more than 30 surgeries. Tate is now 5 and doing very well, though he made need additional surgeries down the road.

The family has established a new foundation:  Tate’s Army Foundation.

A major Tate’s Army Foundation lawnmower safety awareness fundraiser is coming up on Friday, August 6, at the Prairie Links Golf Course, 19 Eagle Ridge Dr, Waverly.

This family-friendly event will feature a host of activities for families and children, while the golf event is underway on the Prairie Links course that Friday afternoon.
