Sumner teenage girl safe after attempted abduction at Public Library

SUMNER, Iowa (KWWL) – A teenager is safe after what police are calling an attempted abduction in Sumner Tuesday morning.

According to Sumner Police, a report was made of a teenage girl being approached in the parking lot of the Sumner Public Library. The girl was asked to get into the vehicle of a man she didn't know. The girl went into the library and is safe and unharmed according to police.

The man is described as having dark hair. He was driving a blue-green extended cab pickup truck. No other descriptive information was given.
