Drink plenty of water and stay cool. Wear sunscreen and take breaks from the heat.

Storms are approaching I-35 and while it is uncertain that these will hold together, it is possible to see some isolated to scattered showers/storms this afternoon into tonight. Severe weather chances are low.

Today: Tracking record heat through today. Highs will be in the mid 90s with max heat indices up to 100 degrees thanks to the humidity. We will see a bit more of a breeze, from the south southwest at 5 to 15 mph.

Tonight: As a cold front comes through, there may be a few lingering showers or storms through tonight before skies become partly cloudy. Lows will be in the upper 60s and low 70s as winds shift to the northwest, dropping humidity levels.

Weekend: The cold front will bring lower humidity for the weekend with sunny skies. It will still be hot with highs in the 80s and low 90s Saturday and low to mid 90s on Sunday as the winds shift to the southwest. Lows dip to the low/mid 60s for overnight lows.

Next Week: We will look for plenty of sunshine throughout the week. Highs will be in the upper 80s to mid 90s with lower humidity. There may be some late week rain.
