WAUCOMA, Iowa (KWWL) -- The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for allegedly breaking into a home in Waucoma and stealing several items, including a gun and the homeowner's dog.
Deputies responded to the burglary around 11:50 p.m. on May 28. After a weeklong investigation, Clayton Hardt Fettkether, 23, of Dunkerton, was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Theft, 2nd Degree Arson, and 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief.
A Facebook post eventually led to the recovery of the dog, which was located an hour way from its home two days later. Most of the other stolen items, including the gun, were also recovered.
Fettkether was booked into the Fayette County Jail, but posted a $15,000 bail and was released with the promise to appear in court.
