Go-Hawks head back to the Class 2A Championship game

The Waverly Shell Rock girls found themselves in an unusual position for a time Wednesday in the Class 2A State Soccer semi-finals.

The Go-Hawks trailed 1-0, before exploding for five goals on route to a 5-1 victory over Spencer.

The semi-final win sends Waverly Shell Rock back to the 2A finals for the 3rd straight year.

The Go-Hawks got three goals from Kenzie Roling and one each from Morgan Aikey and Anna Stromberg.

Up next for the Go-Hawks will be 15-5 Dallas Center Grimes in the 2A championship game at 12:30 Friday at the Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines. Here are the game highlights.
