UNI Softball falls to Missouri 4-0 to play ISU in NCAA Elimination game

COLUMBIA, Missouri – The UNI softball team took on the Missouri Tigers in UNI's second game of the NCAA Regional. The Panthers fell to the Tigers 4-0 in 7 innings.

After an intense pitcher's duel for the first three innings it was the Tigers who got on the board first from a solo homerun from Kim Wert. The Tigers added another run in the top of the 6th when Brooke Wilmes hit a solo homerun. The Tigers pushed 2 more across in the 7th after a Kendyll Bailey hard hit shot to center field.

Kailyn Packard received the start and pitched 6.1 innings, facing 26 batters with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. Hailey Sanders entered the game in the 7th inning with one out. Sanders faced 3 batters and recorded 1 walk.

Missouri's Laurin Krings pitched 6 full innings before Taylor Hogan recorded the only hit of the game for the Panthers, breaking Krings chances of a no hitter. Krings pitched 7 full innings with 10 strikeouts.

The Panthers will now play at 6 pm on Saturday night, taking on Iowa State.
