Two suspects arrested for stealing $26,000 in gift cards from The Salvation Army

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — Cedar Rapids Police are reporting that two suspects have been arrested for stealing from The Salvation Army.

46-year-old Jennifer Lynn Cronan and 50-year-old Matthew Dean Cronan of Marion have been arrested for Theft-1st Degree. Matthew was a seasonal employee at The Salvation Army at 1000 C Ave. NW. Matthew stole around $26,600 worth of gift cards from the safe.

Jennifer is accused of being complicit in using the gift cards while knowing the cards had been taken illegally. Some of the property bought with the cards was recovered at their home.

Both were arrested on May 12th just after 10:30 p.m. and were sent to the Linn County Correctional Center.
