WATERLOO RAGBRAI: Facebook group helps riders and residents connect for local housing

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- Residents interested in hosting RAGBRAI riders during Waterloo's overnight stop on Wednesday, July 28th can coordinate through a Facebook group.

The Facebook group is called "Waterloo RAGBRAI Housing Match" and lets riders and residents easily connect to find the best housing match.

“This group is to connect Residents to RAGBRAI riders and vice versa for housing/camping spaces," Tavis Hall, Executive Director of Experience Waterloo, said. "Posted messages are to offer housing and/or camping space, or for a rider to post what they're looking for. From there, people can communicate with each other. We are already seeing a few requests posted from riders looking for a place to stay.”

Once riders make it to Waterloo, they will be able to use the Waterloo trails to make their way from the festival to the main campgrounds at Exchange Park, San Souci, Tibbetts Field, and Waterloo Water Works. However, some cyclists look for a local yard to camp in to make a connection with residents.

Experience Waterloo has recently announced the Downtown routes and festivities. You can view more, including maps of the local Waterloo routes, here.
