May 4: Iowa reports 1.1 million completed vaccinations, 530 more recoveries than new cases

Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day’s numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current numbers from the state at 10 a.m. Rather than reporting a day behind, we wish to give you the most updated information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties, we are reporting numbers from their county COVID-19 websites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we are reporting numbers from the state’s website.

(KWWL) — There were 373 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 365,993.

The state’s website says that of the 365,993 people who have tested positive, 349,005 have recovered. This is 903 more recoveries than what the state reported Monday.

The state is reporting 0 additional COVID-19 deaths, with a death toll of 5,959.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (349,005) and the number of deaths (5,959) from the total number of cases (365,993) shows there are currently 11,029 active positive cases in the state.

As of Tuesday morning, there were 34 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 195, which is up from 181. Of those, 48 are in the ICU (up from 45), and 23 are on ventilators (up from 20).

In Iowa, there were 2,356 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,717,165 people have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Noon on Monday, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 2,300,751 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 1,103,302 individuals have completed the series. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 5 new cases since 10 a.m. Monday, leaving a total of 16,843 cases. There have been 28 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 15,090. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 307 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 46,094 residents have been fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 28 more cases since 10 a.m. Monday, leaving a total of 20,684 cases. The dashboard is also showing 47 more recoveries, leaving a total of 19,095 recoveries. There has been one additional death, leaving a total of 342 deaths in the county. There are currently 13 patients hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 82,508 residents have been fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday, there are 4 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 14,377 reported cases. There have been a total of 13,606 recoveries, which is 23 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 83. In Johnson County, 65,107 residents have been fully vaccinated.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday, there were 6 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 13,303 reported cases. There have been 55 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,693. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 207. In Dubuque County, 39,824 residents have been fully vaccinated.
