Local businesses helping raise funds for non-profit during Brain Cancer Awareness Month

(KWWL) - May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month and an area pub and a car wash are doing their part to raise awareness and money for a local non-profit dedicated to helping those affected by brain cancer.

Pat & Fran's Irish Pub in Coralville will be fundraising for Gray Warriors Wednesdays in May.  15% of their Wednesday food sales during the month (dine-in and carry-out) will go to support Gray Warriors. They say they're doing this in honor of Bo Olson’s 26th birthday that was April 30, and his fight against brain cancer.

And Tommy's Express Car Wash in Waterloo (3110 University Ave.) is donating $4 for every "works" wash in May.

Gray Warriors is a non-profit organization, helping individuals and families as they ‘Battle the Beast of Brain Cancer.’ The organization was founded in 2017 in memory of Colleen K. Toneff and her son, Chris J. Toneff, both of whom died from brain cancer.

Also coming up next month, Gray Warriors is hosting 'Month of 100 Dinners' to raise funds. During the month of June, you're invited to host a dinner at your home or place of your choosing and ask those who attend to make a donation to Gray Warriors. Schedule your gathering by sending an email to info@graywarriors.org.
