BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) -- It's going to be a busy Monday night for those on both the Waterloo and Cedar Falls city councils.

Waterloo is set to begin work this afternoon during work session where they'll discuss plans surrounding the city being an overnight stop for RAGBRAI this July. Tavis Hall, the director of Experience Waterloo, is set to present the final plans before council.

Another big talker will come up during the work session and that's the issue of fireworks enforcement in the city.

A ban failed among city council in recent weeks, council members choosing to pursuse increased enforcement instead. An amendment proposed by Councilman At-Large Dave Boesen will be presented at the meeting.

Bosesn says the amendment is meant to allow code enforcement employees to also be able to cite residents for violating Waterloo's current fireworks ordinance which allows for fireworks to be used July 3rd-5th. The amendment would also allow citations to be written year around, rather than within the 6 week window when fireworks can be sold.

The amendment is not set to go before council for a full vote.
