CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — The City of Cedar Rapids is announcing that its Bike Share Program will return on Friday, May 7th.

The system is available throughout downtown and surrounding districts like NewBo and the Czech Village. E-bikes and scooters are available through the free VeoRide app.

New this year are 100 "Cosmo" sit-down scooters which travel at the same speeds as a traditional scooter. They will arrive a few weeks after the traditional seasonal launch.

The City is asking users to park responsibly and walk with your bike, scooter, sit-down scooter or skateboard while on the sidewalk.

Here's how much each will cost through the VeoRide app:

  • E-bikes: $1 to unlock, 20 cents per minute of use.
  • Traditional standup scooters:  $1 to unlock, 29 cents per minute of use.
  • New sit-down scooters: $1 to unlock, 33 cents per minute of use.

To contact VeoRide, call (855) 836-2256 or email to report any concerns. To see videos on how the bikes work, or for additional safety reminders, please visit
